After Edinburgh
Edinburgh was absolutely, utterly, marvellous. I had a fantastic time. And everyone managed to catch the trains! Woo! This was something about which we were all slightly concerned... When we arrived it was absolutely chucking it down, but we all strode through the rain and there was a considerable amount of singing. It did mean, however, that we didn't want to do anything except eat large amounts of pizza and drink wine that evening. Luckily Rose's flat, as is appropriate for student living, was perfect for such activities, and we ate and drank convivially, and readied ourselves for the week to come. Which was great.
I went to 17 shows, almost all of which were extremely good. There were the two Two Shades of Blue shows of course, which were fantastic. Comedy and Cake, which I hadn't seen before, was hilarious and beautifully done. And people can tap dance! I was so impressed. We also saw ICE in their new guise as TPC (Triple Point Comedy) twice, one time of which was James' last show and was particularly good. Then there was Luke's uncle, Nick Pynn, who played some great atmospheric music on all sorts of exciting instruments in a teeny tiny venue, throughout which Adam sat in a tree. Sort of. Of course, there were also multitudes of people we did not know. In the 'real theatre' set were The Importance of Being Ernest (very good, very funny. Full of whimsy :D), The Racket (about the war from two points of view, a one man show) and Macbeth (though not as you will ever have seen it. Flames and stilts and very few lines). Sherlock Holmes we saw by the Flaming Redheads, who took us around Edinburgh on a magical mystery tour. Pick of the Fringe gave us a couple of new ideas, Mitch Benn was fantastic in his music show, while The Gently Progressive Behemoth and Rock and Roll Penguin made for amusing times. What have I missed? Get up, Stand up we saw twice. The first time it was absolutely fantastic, all the comics were very good and the music was also well done. The second time was fairly dismal. Although the music was still good, the comics just weren't...well...funny...
That seems to take me to fifteen... What have I missed...? I appear to have lost some tickets. Bother. Ah well, I remembered most of them. When not at the theatre we discovered Islam, went into the Scottish National Gallery, ate, drank, were merry, and sat happily in the sunshine on the Meadows, which were just across the road from the flat and were generally very contented people. It was all lovely. There are lots of photos on facebook. I urge you to take a look, and comment freely. When facebook is alive again that is.
After Edinburgh ended life was somewhat sadder. Adam has now vanished off to Leeds, so for only the second time (the first being when I was in Italy) in four months I have to go more than three days without seeing him. This makes me sad, but I am going up to Leeds in two and a bit weeks and that will be exciting and lovely. I spent most of Sunday and all of Monday at Luke's house watching an entire series of Scrubs and doing very little else. Well. On Sunday night we drank three and a half bottles of wine. But apart from that... But it was nice, and friendly. But now Luke has gone back to Cambridge. *sigh*. However, today I saw Emilia, tomorrow I am to see Kirsten, Thursday I go to the library, Friday I see Richard and Saturday I see Fan. So I am keeping busy. And then my parents will be back from Yorkshire, so I won't be on my own in the house any more.
Also, today I bought myself a very attractive black lacy bra and matching underwear, and some very cute pyjamas, so that made me happy. Love :D xxx

I had in mind a really witty and amusing comment.
Then I read that last sentence.
And I... may have been distracted...
Yay for Edinburgh. It sounds like it was fantastic.
