Toodle pip, and a plea
I probably won't have time to blog again before going off to Cambridge (hurrah!) and things tend to get a bit busy when I'm actually there, so I am not entirely sure when I shall next appear. Therefore I come to say goodbye, and have wonderful times wherever you are. I have now done lots of packing- three boxes, one bag and a laundry basket completely filled, and a suitcase nearly entirely filled. I am doing well. Though I seem to have mislaid my basque, which is highly irritating, because it was pretty. Anyway. The packing is nearly done, and I also managed to write 922 words of my essay, so that is good. Tomorrow I intend to write at least 1078 words, so that I am up to 2000, a satisfyingly comforting number. I think this is quite possible, because today I spent hours and hours trying to write a decent and not ridiculously long introduction, whereas tomorrow I am putting in facts and thoughts and things, which tends to be easier. So wish me luck! I guess it doesn't matter terribly, as is only a first draft, but still.
And now onto more serious matters. I'm sure you all know what is happening in Burma at the moment. If you don't, then read or watch some news. There are people protesting for rights and a way of life which we more than take for granted. These people may be killed, or imprisoned, or they may just disappear. They are brave, brave people, fighting for something they believe in. So if you could, please sign one or more of the many petitions which are floating around the internet, particularly those on the government website. I don't know if it will help, but at the moment there seems to be little else we can do. Please help in any way you can xxx
